Responsive portfolio site for Scotland's most daring filmmakers

Cut Media are a multi-award winning video production company based in Glasgow. Producing content mainly for adventure and extreme sports, they’re no strangers to pushing themselves to the limit; often going to incredible lengths to capture the awe-inspiring footage that has seen them commisioned by organisations such as Adidas, Channel 4 and VisitScotland. They’re also the team behind Scottish biking icon Danny MacAskill’s most successful (and challenging) videos and boast well over 100,000,000 views across their many YouTube hits.

Off the back of developing a new brand identity and portfolio site for videographer (and regular Cut Media freelancer) D.Bonnar Films, I was approached by Cut Media to revamp their website and present their incredible catalogue of work in a new light. Part of Cut Media’s undoubted appeal is the story that accompanies each one of their shoots. They have a huge social media following of people clamouring to find out exactly how such impossible-looking shots are made possible and, more often than not, the accompanying documentation is just as epic and cinematic as the final work itself. With such exciting source material to draw upon, the brief was clear; to produce a site that offers visitors an inspiring peak behind the lense whilst also capturing the adventurous spirit, dramatic settings and charming storytelling that characterize each one of their videos.
