Rec Recoil Guides. I don't offer them. I appreciate they are sexy and the current fad. The ability to spring back when dinged is brilliant. Maybe the material is great for making flexible frame spectacles.... but I think they are poor for long term use on rods. They seem to wear out quickly. I've see to many rods here that show premature wear.
The picture below shows a guide taken of a Loomis that I was assured was only a few months old. The tip guide was virtually sawn through.

Cork Filler tip....
For filler I suggest you avoid the patent rod building products on sale, instead have a look in your local hardware store for a matching cork colour wood filler. A light teak or dark pine one matches well with most cork. If you are filling an old or dirty handle and you want a match pick a darker colour or rub some dirt into the fresh teak filler and wipe it off.
If the voids in the cork you want to fill are really big, cut the void out and glue in a fresh piece of cork to the shape of the hole. Use just a dab of glue and hold it place with a few wraps of tape till dry. Whe you remove the tape if the glued in section is sitting proud cut it near flush with a sharp blade and finish it properly flush with sand paper. Use a little bit of filler if there are any little gaps and the job is done.

Will break down easily under heat for removing worn tip guides. Less messy than hot melt glues.
PU-2. PU Cork Glue.
The best glue for assembling cork sections or for fitting handles. Expands slightly on contact. Ideal for fitting pre formed handles. You will have no more loose or creaking cork on handles if you use this glue.
