METALLIC ROD FINISHES.
The current fad for metallic finishing on rods of all types is causing a bit of a headache. Whilst we can build almost any carbon section to any taper or specification, matching colours on blanks with an unusual metallic finish is getting to be an expensive time consuming problem to solve.
If we do not have a suitable paint in stock, sourcing a paint that matches involves a car journey to the car factors by myself or my one of our staff. Even if we can't find a matching paint, you will appreciate that a fruitless search still take up some considerable time.
We therefore reluctantly, have to apply a charge of £30.00 for the time and return carriage/packing involved.
This would be waived if we can find a suitable colour. You will then only pay the original quoted repair price.

Should we be unable to match the colour (Not: we have rarely been beaten!) and you would like the rod returned to you. The £30.00 paid will include the return packing and carriage costs.
In an effort to be transparent about this, the average price for a high end 9ft 4 section fly rod top section fully finished is around £95.00 - £115.00. This is inclusive of £55.00 for the bare custom made carbon blank section. The balance is made up from the coating, components, thread work and labour involved in finishing the rod section to specification.
